Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Jam and buttercream under ganache
Hi this might sound silly. But I usually use jam and buttercream then cover with fondant
I’m wanting to try covering with ganache. BUT I still want jam and buttercream inside instead of ganache.
Is this possible. As my customer want
Jam and buttercream
Thanks in advance

Thanks.
Will it be ok if it mixes a bit ?
Hi Sue1967
The cake can still be filled with jam and cream, it doesn’t have to be ganache.
Normally, I would use white chocolate ganache on a light coloured cake that has a jam and buttercream filling and milk or plain chocolate ganache if its a dark coloured cake that is filled with jam and buttercream but I suppose it is all down to personal taste.
Not sure if you have made your cake yet, but I put jam and butter cream in the middle of a plain vanilla sponge and cover with white chocolate ganache and it’s delicious.
On chocolate cake I either make chocolate buttercream or vanilla buttercream then cover with milk chocolate ganache.
