Kingpin rolling pin

Hi, I’m just after a bit of feedback, if possible, from anyone using the kingpin rolling pin. It’s quite pricey, but one person told me it was fantastic, but just fancied a few more opinions, before I indulge myself.
Happy Christmas to my fellow sugar addicts. X

Hi sharon54

I bought one at the cake show and WOW!! what ever did I do without it all these years? It’s absolutely fantastic.
I can now roll out large amounts of icing without doing my arms, back and neck in. I would recommend it to anyone who suffers with arthritis or has problems with weak arms. It’s the best 60 quid I’ve ever spent on equipment. Go on, treat yourself and have a great Christmas! X

I don’t think you’ll regret it, I’m in love with mine, just sorry it isn’t a pink one! X Oh don’t try lifting the icing up with it as it will just roll straight off, use a normal pin for that. x

Hi, just been reading the comments on the King Pin, as i have thought about one also
I always have problems with getting even thickness so I use marzipan spacers, but the king pin is quite narrow so don’t know if this would be any good for me. Just wondering if you get a better roll with the king pin.?

Hi jackieharris

I don’t use spacers so don’t know how they’d work with the Kingpin. I think it rolls out beautifully although at first I found I had a tendency to roll out too thin. It takes a few goes to get the hang of, the trick is to keep turning the icing and once you’ve got it over a certain size revert back to a normal pin. The KP takes the heavy work out of initial rolling of a great big wadge of sugapaste. It’s marvellous for people like me who have arthritis and not very strong, worth every penny. I was beginning to give up on my sugar hobby, now I can keep going for a bit longer, albeit very slowly!

Hi sharon54

I was wondering whether you went ahead with the KP. I’m so glad you love it. I’m doing the carousel cake at the moment and the pin is a God send! thanks for feeding back. x
