I saw them today in my local decorating store and they do have a vein.

I have quite a few other PME cutters and find them fine to use. Perhaps wouldn’t use them for very delicate, detailed flowers but lillies should be ok. If you’ve already got a set of the lily cutters have a trial run to see if you’re pleased with them. The advantage with the board is that it makes the vein and takes the struggle out of threading the wire, but if the PME cutters form a vein you won’t need the board.
