louis vuitton handabg cake

Hi everyone

Im holding a cake stall in my local health club and the regulars seem to use the traditional famous Louis Vuitton bags as their gym bags (lucky them!) so I would like to re create the following cake
http://www.louisvuitton.co.uk/front/#/eng_GB/Collections/Women/Handbags/products/Speedy-Bandouliere-30-MONOGRAM-M40391

I am going to use brown sugar paste for the handbag, but what colour sugar paste would you recommend for the straps and handles? and ive seen a previous post about using alcohol and gold luster for the LV and logos on cakes, is that just plain gold luster?

Many Thanks

Hi sammydickens

You can use gold lustre and mix it with a little vodka to make a paint or, there are also liquid edible gold paints available. I prefer the Squire’s kitchen range, Sugarflair have their own range but I find their paints become very thick and can be difficult to work with, plus they are extremely sticky, virtually impossible to remove from paint brushes!

So sorry, I didn’t answer all of your question! Straps and handles could be in a lighter shade of brown, sort of beige/tan perhaps?

Thank you for your responce. I will try that. I have the squires gold paint so might try that. you think teddy bear brown will be good?
