Lustre Paint

Hi
I just watched Faye Cahill luster paint the lovely wedding cake in this weeks cake tutorial. Would it be feasible to apply the paint, once made up with the alcohol, in my airbrush rather than painting it on the cake with a brush? It would certainly save a huge amount of time. Thanks very much. xx

Hi bellscakes

Faye Cahill does say that some people do airbrush lustre, however she prefers to hand paint. Listen to her here:

That’s the way I’ve been doing it for a long time although last Christmas my hubby bought me the Dinkydoodle airbrush. I can’t seem to master it so I’m really pleased to see Faye painting away like I do!
If you haven’t used lustre in your airbrush before have a look in the instructional booklet to make sure that it can be used without causing clogging problems. x
