Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Mrs jones and chocolate ganache
Hi fellow Cakers
I was wondering whether anyone has made mrs Jones vanilla cake with chocolate ganache. Reason I’m asking is a bride who wants a plain vanilla wants a chocolate filling, not white chocolate as she doesnt like it. I’m debating whether to use ganache or buttercream. Does anyone have any advice?

Hi scarlett
It’s personal preference really. There is no reason why you can’t use ganache but I would suggest milk chocolate would be better than dark. You could also make chocolate butter cream if you don’t want pure ganache. Paul has a lovely recipe here http://www.cakeflix.com/online-cake-decorating-courses/how-to-make-chocolate-buttercream. I would suggest asking the bride what she would like, That way you’ll know your customer will be happy. x
Thank you. I asked her but she hasn’t got a preference and has said to me to do which I feel is best. I was thinking choc buttercream too x
