Mrs Jones Sponge cake ingredients

Hi everyone. If I wanted to do this sponge cake as a base for the explosion Santa cake and only used one cake tin would I use the whole cake tin or reduce the amount of ingredients used to half to amount? (I only have 1 cake tin)

The cake will then be approx 3″ in height which can be sliced to give additional height. I know another member did bake the whole recipe in an 11″ tin but I can’t find the answer after making an entire search. Perhaps if you search as well you might come across it??
