My chocolate cake sunk in the middle part 2

Help!!!!!!!!!!! right I’ve made my second cake. I lowered my oven temp and didn’t open the door for the full 2 Hrs but the cake still sunk slightly and is very crispy round the outside – What am I doing wrong? I’m using half the mixture and using an 8in heavy duty cake tin. Very frustrating as I don’t usually have a problem with baking cakes.

Panic over! I turned the oven down a little more and the cake has risen beautifully, still another 35 mins left of baking but my other attempt didn’t look  anywhere near as good so fingers crossed.

That’s really useful information Michelle, thanks for posting.

Thanks Michelle, I am making my first one Saturday and am now warned!  It might be useful to buy an oven thermometer (they are not too expensive) and check oven temperature.
