Welcome to the Cake Decorators Q&A
Numbered 21 cake
Hi
Thanks for the great and quick feedback to my last question.
Can I ask, I would like to use Paul’s chocolate cake recipe, would I need to line the numbered tins and would I still need to cook on 150 degrees, the two numbers fit on a 18″ round board.
Thanks yours truly a complete novice

Hi Amanda
Yes it would be better to line the tins, there’s a lot of chocolate in the recipe and it’s pretty molten too. I’ve only ever baked an all in one victoria sponge recipe in number tins and still lined. I would stick to the given temperature and just keep a careful eye on the baking. If you have problems lining the number 2 shape do it in sections and stick the paper together with some melted butter so the mixture can’t get in behind
