Hi all i have been asked to make a mac book pro laptop cake and was hoping somebody could shed some light as to how i could make the laptop look open? how doest the cake stay so strong and upright and i’m also very afraid that when i iced over the open top bit it would all crumble away .. any suggestions and ideas would be very welcome thanks xx

Hi not sure if this would work but could yoou do the screen as more of a wedge of cake as if it has been propped up at the back, this may support it, so as if it was a triangle of cake with the underneath of the triangle being the screen. Hope this makes sense, I can see it in my head but it is hard to explain. Good luck!

If you search in youtube for ‘open laptop cake’ you’ll see an Italian tutorial by Elisa Tinti which will give you an idea where to start. It’s not in English, but still a good guide. x
