Paul’s chocolate cake recipe
I’ve just made Paul’s chocolate cake and it tastes lovely, but can you use a less bitter chocolate in the mixture? would this be ok and has anyone tried it?

Hi Tomandhen123
It’s fine to use a less bitter chocolate. As long as it is around 45 percent cocoa content the texture will be the same.
You could try a good milk chocolate, just be aware that milk chocolate is a lot sweeter and also it contains edible waxes instead of cocoa. This might affect the texture of your cake. Experiment with a small cake and see whether you like the taste. I’ve heard other members have used milk chocolate with success. Look forward to hearing how you get on. X 🙂
Thank you
