Piped roses on tiered wedding cake

Hi

I have a three tiered wedding cake to do and the bottom layer is to have piped buttercream roses. Should I
A) pipe directly onto cake
B) cover in fondant first then pipe or
C) ganache and then pipe

Wasn’t sure if buttercream would hold if ganache or fondant?

Thank you x

It’s best to seal the cake with either buttercream or ganache crumbcoat same colour as the piped roses. There is no need to cover with fondant.
