Piping a pearl pattern onto sugar paste

hi, I am doing a wedding cake for a friend and she wants the tiers to have a pearl pattern. Do I need to measure around the bottom of the cake to make sure the pearls are evenly spaced then measure evenly up the tiers also? This will be a first for me. Hope someone can help

Hi Julie-thomas11

If you type in the search box ‘Elegant piping’, there’s answer there which will point you in the right direction, hope it will help.

Hi, thanks for your advice and pointing me in the right direction. I have come across a new impression tool from FMM today which has apparently only just been launched and there are two different designs which imprints dots onto the sides of cakes which can then be piped over, the video of the product sold it to me and looks like it will save a lot of work getting all the dots in a uniform fashion. I have just ordered one off their website. It’s worth a go! One can never have too many sugar craft tools! That is my excuse anyway! Thank you again
