I am making Paul’s sunflower and rainbow cake. I don’t have any piping gel for the cake board so wondered if there’s something else I could use?

Here’s a really easy homemade piping gel. It doesn’t need gelatine or cornsyrup so you could give it a go with cupboard ingredients.

When I’ve need to stick things onto a board I just use watered down floristpaste or even a thick home made syrup made with melted sugar cooled.
