Hi can use a fondant instead of Sugar Paste?

Depending where you live sugarpaste is known by different names. Sugarpaste, fondant, rollout icing, ready to roll, plastic icing, covering paste are all the same thing. However in the UK there is also pouring fondant which is used coating small French fancies and mustn’t be mistaken for the roll out variety.
