Should the alcohol drenched muslin cover all sides and the top and bottom of the cake? How long can I do this for?

Cover the cake up with the muslin like you would a parcel. I shall be baking my cake in the second week of September and will be feeding it for the next three months and stop two weeks before I decorate. Check the muslin every week or so to make sure it isn’t dried out, it shouldn’t be but if it is wet it again. Keep doing this for however long you’ll be feeding the cake. Don’t forget to wrap it up in parchement, cling and foil as well then store somewhere cool but not in the fridge.
