quantity of cake mix
I know that this is probably a daft question ,but here goes
would the chocolate cake recipe for an 8 inch and 6 inch.Fit into
14 inch tin ???

Hi Liz
No it won’t, the quantity will not give you the depth, there will not be sufficient batter.
You will need to double the quantities of an 8 + 6 regardless of whether it is round or square. However, if the recipe is for round and you are making a square cake or visa versa the proportions will be different.
The recipe for Paul’s chocolate cake is set for a 10″ square so you can scale up or down using the ready reckoner or the cakeometre tools for round or square shaped tins:
