Query re icing cake
Hi would be alright to ganache Cakes then leave for a day before icing or are you better to do both at once

As long as the ganache has nicely firmed up on the cake, it’s fine to ice the same day. You can leave it for the next day if you prefer but keep the cake covered in it’s box , stored in a cool place well away from direct heat. I usually leave it to firm up and ice the same day, it gets the job out of the way to concentrate on something else. 🙂
Thanks having it ganached will keep the moisture in though .
Cake will stay moist as the ganache seals in the moisture. If you like, cover the ganached cake loosely with clingfilm but it isn’t necessary as long as it is stored in a box in a cool environment.
