How about the pirate cake design but turn it into a yacht with models in sailors outfits something like that just an idea, do the board as a wave effect with dolphins just leaping out the water.

Hi Lynnie1

Suejb58 has made a great suggestion using the pirate ship as a guide for carving. If you download a yacht template and pin it against the cake to carve out the basic shape. The deck of a yacht would not have to be as deep as that of the pirate ship so less detail and carving would be required. Use scraps of cake to form a cabin. There are many yacht images in google which would be helpful for cabin and guard rails. The sails could be made as basic right angle triangles with wafer/rice paper mounted as in Paul’s tutorial, rigging either left out or made with extruded fondant. Addition decorations like life rings, fenders and an anchor could be mounted on the exterior of the boat. Perhaps naming the boat after the recipient? On a less grand scale how about a yacht topper on a blue cake with waves lapping on the side, some nautical paraphernalia like ropes, anchor, compass and bouys studded around the board and cake? Just a few more ideas!
