Skin tone with airbrush paints

Hi all I have a dinky doodle airbrush and some of the dinky doodle ethanol paints. I need to make a skin colour for my next project but can’t seem to find either an ethanol based skin colour, or hints about making skin tone with other ethanol paints. Can anybody help please?

Hi Denise

You haven’t said which colours you already have to be able to mix. Take a peek at this art tutorial which at least gives an idea what colours to blend.

If you have any of those colours in your edibles, try mixing them little by little to get the tone you need. I was trying to find the DinkyDoodle colour chart but I don’t see it online so perhaps there never was one. I make skin tone with a little ivory, pink, brown or peach. It’s just a case of experimenting.

I got my husband on the case with my Dinky Doodle white, red, green, blue and yellow (!). Only fair as the cake is for his local amateur dramatic production. It did eventually work but we may have gone the long way round – will try the above next time! Thanks, as ever, madeitwithlove : )
