Anyone know how to stop cupcake toppers going soggy when they are put on to butter cream ?

You can’t really…it is because of the fat content….leave putting a topper on until the last possible moment or store the cupcakes in the fridge so the butter sets.

You can coat them on the back with Candy Melts and when set – which takes a very short time – attach them to the cupcakes.
leave buttercream overnight to set then use royal iceing on the back of topper and place on cake i make lots of cup cakes and have tried all methods apart from candy melts if u leave the butter cream to set properly and use royal iceing it relly works and your toppers will not go soggy for at least 48 hours by which time cakes should have been eaten hope this helps
I usually cut discs of sugarpaste mixed with tylo powder the same size as the topper then leave them to dry overnight, I then attatch the toppers with water and place on top of the cake.
