Hi Treacle
Have you thought of using strawberry flavoured extract in the sponge? The cake decorating company http://www.thecakedecoratingcompany.co.uk/ sell LorAnn oils which come in lots of different flavours. If you add that to the sponge and just colour the batter pink, would that work for you? I wouldn’t put fresh strawberries in the cake if you’ll be decorating it over a few days. Fresh fruit in cakes moulds very quickly and is best decorated
on day of use. Hope this helps. x
Hi madeitwithlove,
many thanks for you advice, thats what i told the bride, thinking i will get the really good flavouring, i think lakeland does the LorAnn oils ,i nearly bought strawberry when i was there last month, but didnt, who knew i would have a request for it so soon. thanks again your advice as always is helpful , 🙂
Treacle, you could also add it to ganache or butter cream and also make a flavoured simple syrup to add extra strawberry flavour to the cake layers. x
