Sugar paste / Florist paste

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me, I have been asked to make a wedding cake and they want it in ivory, I have found renshaw’s ivory sugarpaste, but I wondered if there is a florist paste in ivory or a paste colour out there I could use for some flowers they want – any help gratefully received!!!! Thanks

Hi sophie,

Yes you can get flowerpaste in ivory, lots of companies make it. My favourite is ‘The Paste’, it’s soft handling but very elastic so you can get it very fine for flowers without it drying out too quickly. It also tastes quite nice should you choose to eat it – which is good for wedding cakes where the flowers are part of the overall decoration and not wired.

Hope that helps!

Funnily enough I was just looking at The Paste now I can’t find the site, they had sample packs, I was going to put a link in if just a small amount you need for a few flowers. If I find the site again I’ll post, they had it for £1.00

that’s the one Bev http://www.cake-stuff.com/clearance-ivory-the-paste-flower-modelling-1kg-trade-pack-p-3221.html but The Paste is £5.00 for special trade price for 1 kg pack. I’m going to try it, thanks jimmychoux.

Let me know how you get on with it madeitwithlove, it’s so different to squires but I really like it 🙂

I will do, I just hope it has a long shelf life, I’m soooooo slow! I;ve been making my own but I don’t think homw made has the same consistency, perhaps it’s just me. For models I prefer Mexican paste because it dries so hard but it’s murder on the hands!

Thank you all, have ordered a little of The Paste to give it a go and see what happens:-) love to hear how you get on madeitwithlove

Hi I was going to ask the same question as in the burger cake ingredient list it lists Ivory sugar paste & Ivory flower paste. I assume they need to be the same colour but I can’t find Ivory flower paste. I have looked on the website you suggested but I still can’t find it. Would cream celebration be a similar colour?

Hi Harry79

The Squires Kitchen cream is very ivory. If you put it against ivory sugar paste there is hardly any difference.
Here’s the link http://imaginativeicing.co.uk/store/Squires-Flower-Paste-Cream-Ivory-200g.html or here free p/p

You could also add a tiny spot of ivory gel paste colour to it if you feel it’s not quite the shade you want.
