Sugarcraft figures

Hi im just wondering if anyone can help with my question i have looked on internet and havent found it any help, what i would like to know is do i need any special certificates or anything else to make sugarcraft items, from home i know if you make and sell cakes from home you need local council to check over your kitchen etc. But im not wanting to bake or sell the cakes just to do the toppers , and can they be sold at craft fairs. Another thing that confuses me is if i use a cocktail stick to attach a head to a body is it still edible i always thought not, is it the same if you use a lolly stick. Hope someone can help …Thanks

I would make sure that you are listed with your local council for food hygiene. It’s really simple to do and would make sure that if someone decides to eat one of your cake toppers, they have no form of redress. It’s fee to register with the council. Whether you use dried spaghetti or cocktail sticks in your models, add a label in the package to tell the buyer – better to be safe than sorry . I hope that helps

Hi, I have made sugarcraft figures on some of my cakes, and as I like them to be completely edible I use candy sticks available in supermarkets, for supports.
