Taupe sugar paste

Does any one have a decent colour recipe to get the colour taupe. I have a 12″, 8″ and 6″ square cakes to cover, so need to get the colour exact. I seem to have seen some where you use cream, grey with a touch of red. Help please. Thanks, Margaret

Hi Margaret

There isn’t really an official colour taupe, if you google ‘how to make the colour taupe’ you’ll find all different definitions for it. There is discussion and combo colour mix here http://cakecentral.com/t/522983/how-do-i-make-the-color-taupe-in-fondant if you’d like to have a look and play on a small amount until the correct colour is reached. To colour large quantities of fondant to get an even shade look here http://www.cakeflix.com/questions/colouring-large-quantities-of-sugarpaste Hope this helps. x
