Wondered if anyone has made this cake for orders and what they feel is an appropriate price? Making one for daughter soon but have a feeling might get asked for them in the future. Looks like a fair amount of time involved re the decorating so wondered about what was a fair price? X

I would calculate cost of all the ingredients for making the cake, add cake boards, ribbons, box, gas, electric, car fuel if transporting and whatever hourly rate you want to pay yourself. As you say there is a fair bit of time involved for which you need to be paid. You could calculate all this from the making of your daughter’s cake so you have an idea if you get asked. What you pay yourself is up to you but £20.00 an hour is not unreasonable. Asking for non refundable deposit would be wise in case of cancellations.
