I’m making a 4 tier cake bottom tier fruit and 3 dummies ,do I need to dowel the fruit cake or will it be ok to just stack without them, many thanks in advance .

There’s no need to dowel if you’re stacking with dummies, fruit cakes are solid and can withstand the weight. If you wanted to just put dowels into the fruit cake you can but the dummies certainly won’t need it.
