What do we use instead of isopropyl alcohol

I was told that we can’t use isopropyl alcohol anymore. To provide a metallic finish on a cake, similar to Paul’s rose damask cake, what do we mix our metallic dusts with instead of isopropyl alcohol?

Hello hs2320

Yes you can still use IPA, it hasn’t been banned. Please take a look at my hubby’s blog which explains why it’s ok:

Hope it helps eliminate some of the confusion surrounding the use of IPA.

Thank you very much, that is a great help.

Is this a normal alcohol like vodka or a specialised liquid?

Hello AnnieLauire

This is not drinking alcohol like vodka, it is isopropanol.
