White summer wedding cake

Can This cake be done in sugar past instead of chocolate and a spong cake not Chocolate
I think it can i just would like to check and see if there would be any pit falls thank

You could use a sturdy sponge like madeira or this https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=jane+hornby+easy+vanilla+cake&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&gws_rd=cr you don’t have to use chocolate cake just something dense enough to take the weight of the icing and decorations. The only reservations I would have doing this in sugar paste would be the decorations. The flowers and frills would have to be done in either gum paste or flower paste which would become brittle so the eating experience wouldn’t be as nice as chocolate. I’m sure other members will give their opinions too.
